FAQs
What is executive coaching?
1
Executive coaching is a structured conversation that helps you think more clearly about the challenges you face at work and in life.
Rather than giving advice, a coach helps you step back, see situations from new angles, and make better decisions.
Many successful people already know what to do — coaching helps them create the space and perspective to actually do it.
Who do you typically work with?
2
I work with successful professionals who want to sharpen their thinking and leadership. Typical clients include:
Senior leaders and executives
Professionals stepping into larger leadership roles
Business owners and entrepreneurs
Technical experts moving into management
People navigating complex career or leadership decisions
Many clients come through referrals from colleagues, organisations, or past clients.
What kinds of issues can coaching help with?
3
Coaching can be helpful for a wide range of professional and personal challenges, including:
Leadership effectiveness
Difficult conversations or conflict
Building influence and credibility
Managing stress and workload
Career transitions or promotions
Decision making and clarity of direction
Improving team dynamics
Balancing professional success with personal life
Often clients come with a specific issue but discover deeper patterns that unlock broader change
How is coaching different from consulting or mentoring?
4
Consultants usually provide solutions. Mentors share their experience.
Coaching is different.
A coach helps you think more deeply about your own situation so you can arrive at better insights and decisions yourself. This tends to create change that is more durable and more aligned with who you are.
What happens in a typical coaching session?
5
Sessions usually last 60–90 minutes and take place every 3–4 weeks.
During the session we explore real situations you are facing and examine:
how you are thinking about the issue
what assumptions may be limiting you
possible new perspectives or actions
The aim is to leave each session with greater clarity and practical next steps.
Both.
I work with:
Individuals who fund their own coaching
Organisations sponsoring leaders or teams
Government departments and not-for-profit organisations
Do you work with organisations or individuals?
6
How long does coaching typically last?
7
Most coaching engagements last between 3 and 12 months depending on the goals.
Some clients work with me for a shorter focused period, while others continue longer as an ongoing leadership development partnership.
Can coaching be done online?
8
Yes.
Sessions can be conducted via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, allowing clients from anywhere in Australia or internationally to work together easily.
